As it turns out the PI had dirt on politicians and business men and woman so when Cliff started as the PI's whore it was demeaning but after he lost his job and wife Cliff went to the PI for help he made Ann his secretary. As the hormones started to take effect and Cliff became Ann she found all this information and with the help of her now partner the PI they money to keep quite so much so Ann was able to become the wife of a very rich older man and when he died she was a widow with lost of money.
